How the day runs

The itinerary.

  1. dep 07:00

    Crossing the Thore Pass

An early departure from Shkodër takes us up the Thore Pass (Qafa e Thorës). At nearly 1,600 meters, it gives you views over the Accursed Mountains before the road drops into the Theth National Park basin.

  2. fly 10:30

    The Zip Line

In Theth, you ride one of Albania's longest zip lines, over the village's stone houses, the church, and the valley floor below.

  3. hike 12:00

    Hike to the Blue Eye

After the zip line, a guided hike (about two hours each way) through beech and oak forest brings you to the Blue Eye of Theth (Syri i Kaltër i Kaprrës), a deep karst spring fed by underground snowmelt. The water is cold, even in summer.

Proper hiking footwear is needed: parts of the trail are rocky and uneven.

  4. ret 16:30

The Lock-in Tower and the Drive Back

Back in the village, there's time to see the Kulla e Ngujimit (Lock-in Tower) and hear about the Kanun and how it shaped local customs. Then we drive back over the pass, arriving in Shkodër by early evening.
